I visited my cousins in Marble Falls, Texas. They have a nice place called 4R Ranch. They offer economical boarding. The boarder has to take turns feeding the horses and cleaning stalls but in this economy the savings might be worth it. They have a lot of space for riding trails and they have a stall and turn out for boarder horses. Call 830-598-1722, serious inquiries only please. The pictures below are of the ranch and horses.
This is Tex. He is a registered Appaloosa. Below you can see him being ridden by my cousin Roy.
Tex's real name is Texanna Red. When he was born he was found by my second cousin Red. So they named him after Red. Tex's mother's name was Julianna. He comes from "bull dogger" lines.
I went to cowboy church. Here I am picture with the pastor. Cowboy church was a very nice experience. All of the music was in the tradition of "country gospel". The sermon was about how special the circumstaces of Jesus' birth were.
Here is Tex again. Isn't he pretty?
Here is Rita. She is my actual blood cousin. My other cousin Roy shown above is her husband. Rita is riding her lovely horse, Kisses. Kisses has an official Pony of America registered name, but I can't remember what it is.
Here I am with Hawk and Kisses. Hawk is the horse I ride most of the time. He is
the sweetest horse anyone would ever like to know. He was raised in a backyard with a bunch of kids. Then he belonged a man who took him to "police horse school". He even passed the fire cracker test.
Here I am riding Hawk around the field. See I can ride in a Western saddle! I don't look much like a cowgirl in my "Yankee Cowboy Hat" as Roy calls it, but at least if I fall on my head I probably will be able to remember my name when I wake up.
