Our bottom ring. It is used for hunter shows
This is the top ring. It is used for many of the lessons and also has a set of jumps with it.
This is our indoor arena. It is 72 feet x 144 feet. It is very helpful when weather does
not permit us to ride outside.

Hunter Show at Gusty Wind Acres

The hunter show was a real success. Gusty Wind was represented by about 14 horse rider combination. The students participated in classes as varied as costume class and lead line, all the way through Hopeful Hunter which includes standard over fences and under saddle classes. The show itself lasted until about 5:30 pm. The weather was fantastic in the upper seventies with an occasional breeze to cool things off. We had guests from as far away as Johnstown and yet we also had neighbors ride their horses up to participate in the show.

Abby dressed as a Valentine riding Sweet Valentine. Valentine is our fantastic 33 year old Welsh Thoroughbred pony. Suzanne, my sister earned all of her scores for her United States Dressage Federation) Bronze metal on her. At that time Suzanne was the youngest person in western PA (age 18) to earn that title. Valentine still enjoys to be ridden and went in two dressage shows at training level and three hunter shows with Abby.
Belle dressed as a Native American riding her mom's special appaloosa, Spicy Girl. Her mother Suzanne (not my sister mentioned above) is hold the lead rope.

Emmy dressed as a Japanese Geisha riding a Dragon (we decided not to use the dragon head). She is riding Cypress Moonbar (Kolt)

Buddy riding Rio Grande. He is dressed as a "cowboy" riding a cow.

Kathleen did a special exhibition. She was an Irish Princess. Her exhibition was a training level Dressage freestyle. She did a wonderful job. I was really surprised that Long Legs let her walk, trot and canter with that long dress on! She prepared this all in secret.

Prior to the start of the exhibition she wore this cape that she removed before starting her performance.
Then at the end she presented my mother and me with roses and thanked us for "a wonder 2008 horseshow season". I was flattered. I have never gotten roses before!
